About The Three Cities

Cospicua (Bormla), Senglea (Isla) and Birgu (Vittoriosa) face Valletta across the Grand Harbour. They are older than the capital, far quieter, and still lived in by locals. A ferry crosses to Valletta in minutes, the waterfront at Dock 1 and the Birgu marina are lined with restaurants, and the Gardjola Gardens in Senglea have one of the best views in Malta.

Why stay here

  • Ferry to Valletta in minutes, or a 10-minute bus
  • The most authentic, local side of the harbour
  • Waterfront restaurants at Dock 1 and the Birgu marina
  • Close to the American University of Malta

Our tips

  • Our rooms here are in two guest houses: a family-run house in Cospicua and Jungle Palazzo, a renovated old palazzo in Senglea.
  • Every room has a private bathroom. Kitchens and rooftop terraces are shared.
  • Ideal for couples and solo travellers who want character at a sensible price.
